Hello! Hi! Bonjour! New *school* year (almost), new election term, new blogmaster… which means now you get to know me a little better, and hopefully I get to know you, too!
My name is Amanda Waddle (still getting used to the name change #newlywed) and I am currently a D1.8, so close to being a D2 I can practically feel the hours of lab work! A few more things about me, I am from Alaska (if we’ve met in person, I’ve probably used my hand as a map), the oldest of 5 kids, fluent-ish in French (-ish because I should practice more…) and 6’3” tall (volleyball, not basketball). I graduated with degrees in Exercise Science and French from Montana State University (go ‘cats!) where I met my now husband *eek*, and we are proud parents to our hound mix Honey.
I’m somewhat new to blogging, and web-mastering… but I *do* know how to read, and I enjoy seeing how dentistry and dental school is woven into the lives of peers and colleagues… SO, here’s my goal for the blog during my time as blogmaster — for this to be a place where YOU can learn AND share about how dentistry fits into your life, or how you fit in to the world of dentistry. How do you, as a dental student, feed yourself? Find time to do all your laundry (I need to know this one, so if you have an answer, let a girl know)? Where do you get your quarters to do said laundry? Do you have a study system you think people would find interesting? What are your hobbies? Are you married/engaged/pregnant? How do you “balance” that with school? What is it that inspires you and drives you toward a career in this field? Do you have a cool research project you think people should know more about? Have you gone through the HPSP process?
OR if none of those things sound interesting to you, what DO you want to read about? Comment below, send us an email. This space is for you and what YOU want to learn, so let’s put it to good use!
We need YOUR support and input, so reach out! I look forward to hearing from you!
